My Specialized Services

Evaluation / Screening

Comprehensive evaluation

Sage OT offers detailed, in-depth assessment designed to uncover opportunities for growth and support in a myriad of domains that relate to the initial functional referral concern. Evaluations can include any combination of the following: caregiver interview(s), standardized testing methods, structured and unstructured clinical observations, and records review of any previous assessments. Evaluations occur in the clinic space as the equipment there is integral to providing standardization in assessment and evaluation appointments are 60-120 min. Included in every evaluation is a patient and/or caregiver report follow up meeting where results and recommendations are discussed and a comprehensive evaluation report is finalized.

Screening

Sage OT recommends screenings when it is not clear whether mild concerns warrant a full evaluation. Screenings are brief, preliminary assessments used to identify children who may need further evaluation. Screenings last no more than 30 min and can occur in any setting. Included in any screening is a brief selection of strategies/tools for families to trial on their own. Screenings may be appropriate in cases where there are isolated functional issues of concern.

Individual Therapy

1 on 1 therapy sessions ranging from 30-55 min depending on your child’s needs and goals and can take place in a variety of settings:

Clinic-based: Sage OT partners with Webster Therapeutics in Webster Groves to provide access to a therapeutic sensory-rich clinic space with a welcoming, home-like ambience.

Community-based: In home, In school/daycare, In the community (at a playground, at the zoo, at a store…). You will collaborate directly with Sarah to determine which service setting best suits your child’s needs and goals.

Group Therapy

Periodic therapy groups will meet at the clinic space at Webster Therapeutics in Webster Groves. Groups targeting various skill areas rotate based on enrollment including but not limited to: therapeutic playgroups targeting dynamic social skill practice, feeding therapy, bike riding intensives and more! New groups are forming all the time so include group therapy requests in any service inquiries.

Professional Development / Workshops

Sage OT offers workshops on some predetermined topics including but not limited to: Sensory-Smart Care in Dental Practices, Defining Occupational Therapy for the School Based Child, and Sensory Processing Primer for Educators. If your educational needs are more defined, Sarah is happy to work closely with organizations to tailor unique workshops that fit the needs of each group for each event.

Meet Sarah

Welcome to Sage OT, I am so glad you are here! I am Sarah Harris, owner and founder of Sage Occupational Therapy and your therapeutic partner. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from Creighton University in 2008. I hold certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and I am registered and licensed by the MO Board of Occupational Therapy. My clinical journey includes experience in a wide range of settings including hospital based outpatient and inpatient care (including NICU and PICU), a therapeutic preschool, pediatric home-health, aquatic therapy, adult rehabilitation, as a keynote speaker at training workshops in schools/dental offices, and even conducting research in orphanages as a Fulbright scholar in Ukraine. This diverse experience has strengthened my core belief that therapy informed by functional neurobiology, with a relationship-based and trauma-informed lens is vital to establishing a therapeutic connection and creating lasting change.

At the heart of my practice is a simple but powerful belief: every individual has the capacity to grow, heal, and live a life of meaning and purpose. As an occupational therapist, my mission is to help each person discover their strengths, overcome barriers, and step into their fullest potential.

I believe that everyone has something valuable to offer the world—a unique light that deserves to shine. Whether you're navigating life transitions, rebuilding skills, or seeking deeper purpose, I’ll work alongside you to support your journey toward greater independence, well-being, and fulfillment.
